Fishing charters and party boats leave out of nearly every port city in Louisiana.  So
next time you visit Louisiana, or if you are a resident, don't overlook the fishing in the

Off Shore
Louisiana is an awesome place to fish offshore.  Most people don't realize that
when you get out past the mud stained waters that exist near shore that there are
Wahoo, Tuna, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Kingfish, Cobia, and even Sailfish.  It can be
a long run out to the deeper clear water so expect to pay more for charters.

Fresh Water
Louisiana offers a number of opportunities to fish the fresh water.  One of the most
famous is Toledo Bend.  A number of species inhabit Louisiana fresh water
including, huge catfish, bass, crappie, and bluegill.

Near Coastal
the very popular redfish along with, tarpon, speckled trout, black drum, red
snapper, sharks, and snook all can be caught in the shallow waters of this gulf
state.  Wading is actually an option for a number of these species depending on
time of year.
